This policy explains how Know Your Ride (“KYR,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on knowyourride.net. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things — like keeping you signed in — and help us understand how the site is used. Some are set by us (“first-party”), some by services we use (“third-party”).
The Cookies We Use
- Session cookies (authentication) — a secure session token that keeps you signed in and protects against fraud. Without it, you can’t stay logged in. Expires when your session ends, or up to 30 days if you choose “remember me.”
- Analytics cookies — if Google Analytics is enabled, it sets first-party cookies to measure aggregate, pseudonymous usage (pages viewed, browser, approximate region). We use this only to improve the Service; we don’t use it to identify you personally. You can block these without breaking the site.
- Third-party cookies (payments) — when you subscribe or manage billing, Stripe sets its own cookies to process payments securely and prevent fraud, governed by Stripe’s own policies.
When you click an affiliate link to Amazon, Amazon may set its own cookies on its site to attribute the purchase. Those are Amazon’s cookies under Amazon’s policies, not ours.
What We Don’t Do
We do not sell tracking cookies or cookie data to third parties. We do not use cross-site advertising or behavioral ad-targeting cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
How to Opt Out
- Browser settings — block or delete cookies anytime. Note that blocking the session cookie will sign you out and break login.
- Analytics — block with your browser’s privacy settings or a content blocker; the Service still works.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — we honor recognized opt-out signals where required by law.

We’ll update the effective date above if this policy changes and post the new version here.
